Western Massachusetts is the setting for this design/build by Tsao & McKown Architects. And it’s all about the view. The 7,000-square-foot house lies on 20 acres, so the floor plan maximizes what can be seen through the windows. Inside, a palette of celadon, bone, ivory, chalk, linen, and wheat whisper differently in every season, absorbing and reflecting the greens of spring and summer or complementing the browns and grays of winter.
In the study, an Eero Saarinen chair and ottoman are paired with a George Nakashima side table. The wide floor boards give this room a harder-edged, more cabin-like vibe than some of the others.
