John Bricker's West Village Apartment Living Room

Gensler creative director and principal John Bricker filled his West Village one-bedroom–an 850-square-foot layout, 1950’s imitation of a typical prewar apartment–with family heirlooms, travel souvenirs, artwork, and books that speak to him. Never cluttered, the result is still brimming with personality. Furniture runs the gamut from a sideboard made for a Victorian kitchen to the 1980’s glam of John Hutton’s Klismos chairs.

A chair by Rodolfo Dordoni, a stool by Charles and Ray Eames, and a sofa in green leather and mohair velvet cohabitate in the living area. The nubby rug is by no means shy, but still allows the furniture to take center stage.
