For the design of its NYC Flagship, the Milan-based apparel and lifestyle brand Montcler reached out to the firm of Gilles & Boissier, with whom they had previously worked on several shops worldwide. The result–a nod to the company’s Gallic origins–plays out like a grand Parisian apartment, with acres of marble, an abundance of carved wood, and rich colors and sumptuous textures throughout.
A bronze sculpture commissioned from Christophe Charbonne rests on a reinforced cedar base. It is powerfully framed by black marble flecked with white. A large mirror multiplies the effect.
