About
Chilewich.

“Making something beautiful is easy,” says Chilewich founder and creative director Sandy Chilewich. “Making something beautiful as well as practical is my passion.” Designed and produced in the United States, the company’s innovative textiles are developed and refined by pushing materials to their limits—physically, functionally and aesthetically.

Redefining Textiles.

Reimagining the potential of extruded yarns, Chilewich has built upon a foundation of floor mats and tabletop designs with its thriving contract division, which debuted in 2001 with woven textiles for wall-to-wall and tile flooring. Joe Sultan, Sandy Chilewich’s architect husband, spearheaded the development of backings suitable for commercial use. Today the division includes backed and unbacked woven fabrics for use on walls, panels, windows and upholstery.

Chilewich also works closely with interior designers, offering a broad range of wall and floor coverings that can be customized to fit the needs of their clients. Chilewich notes, “The durability of this extruded yarn, the intrinsic sheen of the material, its tremendous design versatility, and the fact that it is washable, continue to inspire me today.”
