National is as committed to a beautiful outdoors as we are to a beautiful indoors. Our dedication to sustainable design and environmentally responsible practices within the wallcovering industry is evident, first and foremost, in our support of green building initiatives.

While our corporate headquarters were built in 2003 with sustainability in mind, we made a decision in 2008 to pursue LEED for Existing Buildings certification. Our goal was to strive for a Gold certification and promote commercial interior design products that meet a variety of LEED point criteria. In the end, green cleaning, recycling, energy reduction, building automation system installation, water reduction and purchasing were the main issues addressed during the program. As a result of our efforts, we achieved an extraordinary LEED for Existing Buildings Gold certification in 2011. We were one of the first to achieve this designation in the state and the only wallcovering company in North America to be headquartered in an LEED-certified building.

We were also one of the first companies to certify our products to NSF 342 Sustainability standards in the wallcovering industry. We have offset 100 percent of our corporate headquarters’ annual energy use with Green-e-certified off-site renewable wind energy for the past eight years. We also continue to divert 50 percent of our ongoing durable consumables from the landfill each year through our recycling efforts.

Our goal is to continue to be a leader in the commercial interior products industry, while being a good employer, protecting the environment and ensuring a bright future for generations to come.
